SemiSteve, the excellent article you wrote, and i referred to was Wealth Distribution Is Good For The Economy...

by SemiSteve  Apr 19, 2013

Welcome to my buddy list, rodwade1. Now that we have conversed for a while I see that we indeed have some things in common. Pleasure to have you in my circle.

by SemiSteve  Apr 18, 2013

I like the freedom of being able to talk about politics under an anonymous GB handle. The security of being anonymous allows posters to speak freely without concern for retribution. I think that is important.

by SemiSteve  Apr 17, 2013

What other political forums do you like? I have not found one that is well moderated. Seems like they mostly devolve into insult-fests. Here on GB that is not allowed. If a troll comes in and starts flaming he gets banned. So we can really talk about politics. It's civilized. I like that.

Here's a link for the GB political forum: Oh, I see the space here is limited. Post got cut off. I was saying I thought I would see others hypermiling too. But sadly I almost never see it. Most can't wait to wait. Must be terribly frustrating for them. Too bad. Their loss. I've noticed it takes me about the same time to drive across town using hypermiling techniques as it did when I did not.

You mentioned you are into politics and tend left. I am also liberal. But I have never seen you posting in the US politics forums. No time for it?

I can totally identify with the challenge of hypermiling in a world full of pedal-stompers. I have gone beyond simply looking at the lights ahead. Even if it is too far away to discern or blocked by traffic I can tell by watching the cross-traffic and knowing the light cycles. If it's red (or about to be) and I've got enough momentum to get there I'm off the gas. And then all the me-first types scramble to pass me and be the first one to wait at the light. It is almost comical. It is as if they can't wait to wait. I'm sure they are as annoyed as I am at the incompatibility of the two driving styles. And because the light turns green just about the time I come rolling up behind them they never realize or care why I am doing it. I used to wonder if I would recognize my habits in another driver. It only seemed natural to me to do this after gas prices went above $4 in '08. It seemed like the whole world had changed. I thought others would realize the same things, that I would

Still not sure which topic that was in. I am always calling for a more equitable wealth distribution - the kind that people work for and earn (not the dole). Thanks for the buddy request. I'll take it under consideration. What do we have in common besides being GB members? I see that you are into everything affecting gas prices and some current events. I am heavy into politics. But I am also a hyper-miler. Are you into that? I regularly get ~32 mpg city in a car EPA rated to get 21. It's mostly in how you drive it...

rodwade1: "Excellant article, i could not agree more !!!!" --Thanks. But, er, to what article do you refer?

by remichal  Oct 20, 2011

Well it doesn't say Clipper Mart any more but it's repeated 3 times, lol. That's been happening to a lot of postings lately. It has to be a GB problem. I replace a lot of incomplete posts to add the station names (so people from away will have more information) in hopes the people I repost over will get the hint and some do. I've noticed your's are ordinarily very complete and now GB messes with you. Got to hate that, lol.
